The Pilates Method changes bodies by:

  • Making them fitter, stronger and more attractive
  • Toning the muscles, developing sleekness rather than bulk
  • Developing the abdomen and lower back as the central support for a more supple and graceful body.

When you finish your program, you feel refreshed and invigorated. Each muscle has been stretched and worked. The deep breathing has delivered oxygen to the tissues and the whole body has been conditioned.

No other exercise system is as gentle whilst still giving a challenging workout. Many of the exercises are performed in reclining or sitting positions, and all are low impact. As these exercises can be target specific, the method is ideal for injury and chronic condition rehabilitation, as well as body conditioning for the elderly.

Pilates has not only eradicated my lower back and shoulder pain caused by long hours at a computer, it has also lifted and toned my body as a very welcome bonus!
